BEST TIME TO VISIT SEVEN LAKES NATIONAL PARK,TURKEY

By on Thursday October 25th, 2018

This post was not going to contain any useful information about the Seven Lake National park, there were supposed to be only beautiful photos. But in the end of the day you guys may want to know how to get there, where to stay, when it is the best time to go etc. So here you are! Enjoy the stunning views and travel tips.

HOW TO GET TO THE SEVEN LAKES NATIONAL PARK

Seven lakes national park is relatively close to Bolu that is between Istanbul and Ankara.  Easiest way to visit it is to join any one-day tour trip. But we are looking for the best rather than the easiest way, right? So my suggestion is to go there by your own/rented vehicle.  Why? Simply because the road is so scenic that you gotta prepare yourself for stopping each five minutes to capture a shot. It may take you one and a half hour to pass these 50 km:

You have to pass through the mountains heights in order to get to the park, therefore be careful about iced road if you are not driving in the summer season.

BEST TIME TO VISIT SEVEN LAKES NATIONAL PARK

A completely different world is waiting you behind the mountains, especially in the autumn. In the end October – beginning of November the place looks magnificent.

By the way, these golden colors of Indian summer that we are used to see in Central or Northern Europe are not very typical for Turkey, where the leaves usually turn directly brown. But in the Seven Lakes the nature made its best in term of pleasing its autumn visitors.

Another reason why I say this time is the most suitable is because of the road: happen you come here one month later and you will need winter tyre for sure.

CAMP OR PICNIC AT THE SEVEN LAKES?

Both! There are many tables nearby the lakes, so grab your snacks and enjoy the views.

Camping is another great idea for Seven Lakes visitors! The area is very cozy and quiet!  The area is equipped with toilets but it is forbidden to make fire there, so make sure you fetch your gas stove with you.

Just imagine the below view welcomes you as you step out from your tent:

The place is so peaceful that you only wish we had more places like this and more time to enjoy their beauty and grace.

WHERE TO STAY?

There aren’t any hotels in or around the park, just a few bungalows, so the nearest accommodation would  be in Bolu. I though recommend you to stay at Lake Abant Nature Park, a lake formed by volcanic eruption, another beautiful destination of this area. And of course Büyük Abant Hotel is where you want to stay. Ultimate service and atmosphere. Allow yourself one day to relax and walk or ride a bike around the lake.
