TUZ LAKE

By on Saturday October 29th, 2016

Wide endless lunar landscape embrace you as you drive to the south from Ankara. How peaceful this emptiness is. Would you listen to the music? Or listed to the music of the wind instead? Suddenly, a light pink mirror looms on the horizon.
This is nothing but salty Tuz Lake, second largest lake in Turkey.

The lake dries during the summer making it possible to literally walk on the water’s surface. We visited it in October when the weather was still nice, so we spent plenty of time walking on lake.

Not sure, whether because of salty evaporation or optical illusion, I felt ‘winged’ long after we departed.

Tired but happy we were headed towards Cappadocia…
